Fit For Church #1

As Christians, dressing modestly doesn’t mean covering our whole body, wearing neutral colours all the time, no make-up and of course no heels at all.

According to 1 Samuel 16:7 “But the Lord said to Samuel, Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

The Lord looks at the heart: If the Lord looks at the heart, then there’s no specific way for Christians to dress in because God does not pay attention to what we wear. It is our hearts that matter the most to Him. Then, we shouldn’t go about dressed as if to attend a funeral and judge other Christians upon their attire because it doesn’t fit that of a Christian (God is not looking, why should we, mere mortals?). No, we are royalties, we should dress accordingly.

Man looks at the outward appearance: As man cannot see beyond  the physical, our outward appearance is our first point of contact. When someone sees us, our appearance is what he or she sees first. 1 Timothy 4 tells us to teach with our lives. We want to draw people close to God, not that they run by imposing strict rules and regulations on how to dress.

In conclusion, not overdoing the make-up, exposing certain parts of our body, covering all of our body as a norm, etc., just be led by the Holy Spirit. For example, for me to wear a dress like this, i need to wear a blazer on top to cover my b…, especially in Church. That is how i feel in my Spirit. If i don’t wear it, i feel exposed, but i am not in these pictures as i am not showing my b…

May God bless you.
